Interaction19 Brand Identity
The IxDA Conference (Interaction19) was coming to Seattle in 2019, and my class was assigned the task of coming up with a visual system for this conference. We received a creative brief from the conference coordinators and the theme for that year was "Design in the Wild."
After highlighting some key words in the creative brief I defined “Design in the Wild” as designers taking inspiration from nature. This is called biomimicry and I used three prominent examples of it throughout my identity. In each application, the photo shows the inspiration and the sketch shows the technology that came from it.
The colors are representative of each step of this design process — green to represent the nature from which the idea was derived, blue to represent the technology that was created, and purple and pink to represent the unknown future of further innovation
and experimentation in design and technology.
