Nordic Museum Rebrand

For the logo redesign, I drew the figurehead of a viking ship, as the viking tradition is well-known and easily identified as a part of Nordic history. The type choice of mixing serif and sans serif was to create an educational and institutional feeling, while also keeping it fresh and modern to fit with the brand new building that the museum was moving into at the time of the rebrand.

The patterns I created were based on Nordic wool sweater stitches, and the color choices were also rooted in Nordic culture. The pink hints at the current trends in Nordic design and aesthetic, while the dark blue creates a more serious, academic mood, and harkens back to the seafaring tradition of the Nordic peoples.
